Report of WIW Celebrations

We are very happy to happy to share with you that Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi is the first college in the University of Delhi to have taken the lead in DU in joining the ‘World Investor Week-2022’ (WIW-2022) celebrations promoted by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and co-ordinated by Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) – the regulatory body of the securities market in the country.

WIW is a global initiative of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) to spread awareness amongst investors. We are celebrating WIW-2022 here in India from October 10 – 16, 2022. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) is the national coordinator for celebrating WIW-2022 in India.

On the Day-1 celebrations of WIW-2022 (i.e., on 10th October 2022), the SEBI team from the Northern Regional office of SEBI comprising of DGM, SEBI, Sh. Sh Gyanendra Neeraj, AGM, Ms. Nanu Kaur and Manager, Mr. Kunal Kishore Bharti visited Kirori Mal College and the event was launched in the academic auditorium of Kirori Mal College at 11 am in full zeal in joint collaboration with the Finance and Investment Cell, Centre for Disability Research and Training (CDRT) and Prayas society of KMC. The objective was to make this celebration more inclusive and diverse. More than 100 students benefitted from the interactive session organized by the delegation from SEBI and coordinated by Prof. Seema Joshi, Staff Advisor, Finance and Investment Cell. Prof Someshwar Sati, Staff Advisor, CDRT, and Prayas from KMC also addressed the audience and expressed his joy in collaborating with FIC on this great mission of educating the investors—i.e., they should invest but with knowledge.
