Event: Laptop Distribution for VI students
Organised by: Centre for Disability Research and Training (CDRT), Kirori Mal College in collaboration with Saksham

On Wednesday, 13th March, the Centre for Disability Research and Training at Kirori Mal College, in collaboration with Saksham under the project Arohan, distributed laptops to 15 visually impaired students of the college. Sponsored by ONGC, these laptops were equipped with the latest screen reading software, enhancing accessibility for visually impaired students.

During the distribution event, Prof. Someshwar Sati, the coordinator of the centre, and Dr. Aarti Chanana from Saksham, highlighted the crucial role that computers play in empowering visually impaired students and facilitating their higher education. They also announced the upcoming launch of a computer training program for these students.

Prof. Dinesh Khattar, Principal of Kirori Mal College, emphasised the importance of educational institutions in providing inclusive educational experiences for students with disabilities. He expressed gratitude to ONGC for their support in providing the laptops. Mr. Jay Nagar, the ONGC representative, reiterated their commitment to enabling students with disabilities to pursue higher education.

The event concluded with the beneficiary students expressing their deep gratitude to the college, the centre, Saksham, and ONGC for their support. They expressed how the laptops would help them become more self-reliant and pursue their academic and professional goals effectively.
